The first of many technical previews of Belle, AKA Umbraco 7.

DISCLAIMER: This does by no means try to be a complete product, and is in no way ready for production use, you can try it out, test packages on it, get a feel for what is coming, but don't expect to be able to build a website on this yet.

This is a preview of the alpha release, alot of work is being put into the machinary running beneath the UI, so not many visual changes, most work has been focused on making large parts of the application run off the old webforms editors, to ensure that we keep a somewhat backwards compatible system, and don't try to re-engineer the entire application at once, this means we can migrate to angular in small chunks at a time, instead of one massive jump.

So don't be sad that we are not migrating everything to angularJS right away, it's a good thing that we do it one editor at a time and have a chance to gather feedback, instead of hiding away in a cave for several years to make everything "perfect".

What works?

• All trees work
• All legacy editors and most dialogs load
• umbraco.controls has been converted to bootstrap html
• content and media editor are native angular editors
• authentication and session handling
• notifications, modals and clientside api

What to use this for?

You can build a new property type editor, following this tutorial: http://umbraco.github.io/Belle/#/tutorials/CreatingAPropertyEditor

You can install one of your packages and see if it plays well with belle, or if you need to do some adjustments

Known issues

• Data type editor is not available in this build
• Some missing data types, like the tag editor, will make the cpu jump 20-30%
• This is a tech preview, expect a lof of things not working ;)
